Hamlin Vote on Wind Turbine Moratorium

Monroe County
Mar 12 2007 - 7:00pm
Mar 12 2007 - 9:00pm

Please show your support in favor of the moratorium on the wind turbine issue at the next Town meeting on Monday, March 12 at 7 pm at the Hamlin Town Hall on Lake Road.

What is a Moratorium?

A moratorium is a legal authorization to delay action, in the case at hand we, The Hamlin Preservation Group, are in support of a moratorium on the placement of industrial wind turbines within the town of Hamlin.

The Hamlin Town Board has appointed a committee to investigate the ramifications of the installation of industrial wind turbines within our community. A moratorium would provide the Wind Turbine Committee valuable time to assess this proposal and to make specific recommendations to the town board.

Without a moratorium wind developers could pressure the town to act on this issue before regulatory safeguards have been established.
Whether you support wind energy in our town or not, a moratorium is in everyone’s best interest. This is the only time the Hamlin Town Board will vote on this issue. Please attend and make your voice heard.
